ECF Pulp

It stands for Elemental Chlorine-Free pulp. It is a type of chemical pulp that is bleached without using elemental chlorine gas. Instead, it uses chlorine dioxide (ClO₂) as the primary bleaching agent. In ECF bleaching, chlorine dioxide replaces elemental chlorine, significantly reducing these toxic byproducts. ECF pulp is accepted under ISO 14001 environmental standards, and is a step toward FSC/PEFC-certified sustainable paper products.
