ECF Pulp

ECF Pulp

It stands for Elemental Chlorine-Free pulp. It is a type of chemical pulp that is bleached without using elemental chlorine gas. Instead, it uses chlorine dioxide (ClO) as the primary bleaching agent. In ECF bleaching, chlorine dioxide replaces elemental chlorine, significantly reducing these toxic byproducts. ECF pulp is accepted under ISO 14001 environmental standards, and is a step toward FSC/PEFC-certified sustainable paper products.
